People are strongly encouraged to book tickets to the guided walks so they can find out more about the town. People can then come to the Clock Tower on 26 March to see the innovative art Wednesbury has inspired.

Sandwell Council’s cabinet member for regeneration and growth Councillor Iqbal Padda said: “Wednesbury town centre is a real gem in Sandwell – whether you are from the town or further afield, it is well worth a visit to find out more. We are pleased to be working with Historic England and Multistory on the Wednesbury High Street Heritage Action Zone project, which includes this exciting cultural programme.”

Wednesbury was one of five West Midlands towns to receive millions of pounds of government funding to aid economic recovery and restore its historic centre.

The High Street Heritage Zone (HSHAZ) involves restoration of shops and shopfronts and help to convert unused upper floors into new homes. There is also a focus on restoring local character, improving public spaces and boosting arts and culture. Visit our Wednesbury HSHAZ webpage to find out more.
