SsangYong announces new aftersales area manager

SsangYong Motors UK is delighted to announce the appointment of Thomas Holyoak, as regional aftersales manager who will report to aftersales director, Mark Burrows.

Thomas has a wealth of experience in aftersales having started his career in 2004 with Parkway Motor Group. During his 18 years with the company, Thomas has held several key roles within the organisation, starting as a vehicle technician, working up to service manager and latterly aftersales manager.

Thomas, who joins SsangYong Motors on 4th April, said; “SsangYong is known for its impeccable levels of servicing and customer care, and I am delighted to be joining the team at such an exciting time. SsangYong product keeps going from strength to strength, delivering exceptional value for money whilst ensuring great reliability and quality. I am very excited to be joining this growing network and looking forward to the journey ahead.”

Thomas, who will be responsible for franchised dealers in the east and southeast of England, will implement processes to aid continuous improvement, the development of projects that help to raise the standards of customer care and increase profitability for the SsangYong network.

Ssangyong, meaning “double dragon” is a Korean car manufacturer specialising in 4x4s, SUVs, MPVs and pick-up trucks. Initially established in 1954, SsangYong Motor Company started producing trucks, busses, and special purpose vehicles for the export market, establishing the strong and reliable DNA of its products on the market today. The headquarters for SsangYong Motor Company is in the Gangnam district of Korea’s capital, Seoul, and its principal vehicle manufacturing plant is currently at Pyungtaek, which has the capacity and latest technology to produce 240,000 cars a year. The company has invested in a new factory, in the same area, which is has been developed specifically for SsangYong to accommodate the production of pure-electric vehicles. 

SsangYong Motor distribution rights were acquired by Bassadone Automotive Group in 2011. Operating as SsangYong Motor UK Limited in the UK, as the official importer and distributor of SsangYong vehicles, parts, and accessories. SsangYong Motor UK Limited has undergone dramatic transformation over recent years with the implementation of a new management team and a new growth strategy with a firm focus on the expansion of an evenly spread dealer network to 80-strong in 2022.
