A two-year-old boy has died and four adults have been injured in a hit-and-run crash involving a stolen car. The collision occurred just before 23:00 GMT on Saturday on Dartmouth Road, Smethwick, in the West Midlands, between a Toyota Auris and a grey Porsche Cayenne.

A 29-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man remain in serious condition in hospital, while another man and woman, both aged 30, are stable. All five victims, including the child, were travelling in the Toyota, police confirmed.

The Porsche, which had been reported stolen earlier in December, was believed to be driving away from the roundabout on Kenrick Way when the crash happened. The driver fled the scene following the incident.
The road was closed in both directions while specialist reconstruction teams investigated but has since reopened.

Det Sgt Paul Hughes, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, urged the Porsche driver to come forward, saying: “They made the wrong decision to run away, and I’m asking them now to make the right one.”

West Bromwich MP Sarah Coombes recently raised concerns about speeding on Kenrick Way, telling Parliament on 27 November that local residents “dread” Friday and Saturday nights.
