Join artists and natural play experts at Bromwich Hall from 3-17 August for the FLOW Festival of bold and imaginative arts and culture made with, by and for children in Sandwell and Birmingham.
The three weeks of fantastic family activities take place in the grounds of Bromwich Hall (West Bromwich Manor House, Hall Green Road, West Bromwich) in a shipping container designed by children – a place to play and be creative. There will be something new every day, with activities taking place daily, apart from Sundays.
The FLOW Festival and Children’s Creative Studio will be open in August with a free programme for children and families. It will be a place to tinker, to play, to make, to create, a children’s art studio, a huge dressing up box.
The FLOW Festival places children at the centre of the action as designers, makers and artists.
Each week during the festival there will be a new theme: from games and play, fashion, nature and natural and medieval mayhem reflecting the history of Bromwich Hall.
The festival is being hosted by Sandwell Museums and Sandwell Libraries, who will adding to the fun with a summer sandpit in the grounds, medieval fun in the house with the wise woman, and trails in the grounds, as well as storytelling and the mobile library.
Councillor Laura Rollins, Sandwell Council’s cabinet member for leisure and tourism, said: “We’re delighted to welcome the FLOW Festival to Sandwell as part of the Birmingham 2022 Festival – which is the biggest celebration of creativity ever in the region and one of the largest ever Commonwealth Games cultural programmes.”

The FLOW Festival is produced and curated by The Parakeet Studio CIC for the Birmingham 2022 Festival.
Please note: West Bromwich Manor House Museum and the sandpit won’t be open every day when these activities are taking place, but the summer sandpit will be open each day the house is open.
