Young amateur photographers are invited to go out into nature and capture the perfect picture of the borough’s Bostin Green Places for Sandwell’s Young Photographer of the Year 2022 competition.
The theme for this year’s competition is ‘Sandwell goes green’, and is open to all amateur photographers – including those at schools and colleges – up to the age of 21.
There are four categories:
• Under-12s
• 12-15-year-olds
• 16-18-year-olds
• 19-21-year-olds.
Entrants must submit their photograph – in a JPEG format – by email, and include their name, email and postal addresses, and age.
Only one photograph per entrant will be allowed.
Please submit your photograph by email to Young_Photographer@sandwell.gov.uk by Monday, 18 July.
An independent judging panel will decide the winner for each age category.
There will be a display of the best photographs from the competition at Sandwell Valley Visitor Centre and at the Commonwealth Games Festival site in Sandwell.
Councillor Laura Rollins, Sandwell Council’s cabinet member for leisure and tourism, said: “Do you love taking pictures? Do you have an eye for a perfect photo? Why don’t you enter our Young Photographer of the Year 2022 competition and show everyone Sandwell’s Bostin Green Places?
“Sandwell’s young people have an unrivalled creativity and it will be great to see how they interpret the competition’s theme. This is a fantastic opportunity to highlight our young people’s artistic abilities and Celebrate Sandwell’s nature which is at the heart of our borough.”
